Harvey Group’s Mechanical Apprentices recently took part in another skill build assessment at our Head Office facility in Glengormley.  

 

Geberit provided our apprentices a one hour refresher training session on the use of HDPE systems.

 

Apprentices then took part in a skills assessment for the construction of a Geberit WC toilet frame system served via Geberit HDPE pipe work.  Apprentices' skills were tested in a variety of jointing methods.  Joints were created using a Media Machine to produce Butt Welds and due to the 230 degree plate temperature due care and attention was required to ensure the health and safety of all those involved.  Fusion techniques were also required to complete pipe coupler jointing.  The assessment was timed and apprentices had five and a half hours to complete the installation.
