Mechanical services installation included: sanitary ware within the en-suites, which were designed in a pod structure for easy installation and connection. Heat interface units were supplied in each room for both heating and hot water. A new access control system was installed including wireless operated doors for studios. All students require access control cards to enter/exit this building which gives the new occupants safe and secure accommodation.
This design and build project involved the refurbishment of the old BIFHE Building, at college square east, in the heart of Belfast. The building itself is listed and now houses 414 new student accommodation units. The works were carried out over the 5 existing floors with 3 new floors.
