Shortlisted for Commercial Project and Apprentice of the Year

Harvey Group are thrilled to announce that we have been shortlisted for two categories at the upcoming Northern Ireland Electrical Awards 2025 – Commercial Project of the Year and Apprentice of the Year.

The awards recognise the achievements of the top electrical contractors, consultants, suppliers, people, products, and projects across the industry.

Our nomination for Commercial Project of the Year recognises our electrical work on the state-of-the-art research and development facility for Sensata Technologies in Newtownabbey. This purpose-built facility, which complements Sensata’s existing manufacturing site in Antrim, provides a modern workspace for their engineering, software development, and services teams.

We are also pleased that Matthew Culbert, one of our talented Electrical Apprentices, has been nominated for Apprentice of the Year. Since joining Harvey Group three and a half years ago, Matthew has shown exceptional dedication and a genuine passion for the industry. He continues to make a positive impact on both projects and colleagues.

Harvey Group Electrical Apprentice Matthew Culbert commented on his nomination,

“I am honoured to be nominated for Apprentice of the Year at this year’s Electrical Awards. This recognition reflects the dedication and passion I bring to my work every day. I’m truly grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to learn and grow in this industry, and I'm excited for what the future holds as I continue developing my skills and contributing to the field.”

Harvey Group Managing Director Jonnie Clarke said,

"We are incredibly proud of Matthew’s nomination for Apprentice of the Year. His dedication, professionalism, and willingness to go above and beyond make him an invaluable member of our team. This recognition is a testament to his hard work and commitment, and we wish him every success as the awards approach.

“We’re also delighted that the Sensata Technologies project has been shortlisted for Commercial Project of the Year. We are proud of our involvement in the new research and development facility in partnership with trusted client Turkington. We are looking forward to attending the gala evening next month and wish all the nominees the best of luck.”
