Harvey Group was pleased to take part in a recent NI Chamber of Commerce event focused on the theme “Why Recruit Apprentices”, hosted at Sensata Technologies in Antrim as part of Northern Ireland Apprenticeship Week.
The event brought together employers from across the region to explore the business benefits of apprenticeships and the role they play in building a skilled, sustainable workforce for the future.
Representing Harvey Group, Managing Director Jonnie Clarke joined the panel of speakers to share both industry insight and personal experience. Having started his own career as an apprentice with Harvey Group, Jonnie highlighted the long-term value apprenticeships create — not only for individuals, but for organisations committed to developing talent from within.
Discussions throughout the session reinforced that apprenticeships are a strategic investment for businesses of all sizes. Employers benefit from developing skills tailored to their operational needs, increasing workforce loyalty and engagement, and creating a strong pipeline of future talent. Apprentices, in turn, gain valuable hands-on experience, industry knowledge and clear career pathways.
Harvey Group has a long-standing commitment to apprenticeship development and recognises the important role programmes like these play in strengthening both our organisation and the wider industry. Events such as this provide an important platform for collaboration, knowledge sharing and encouraging more businesses to consider apprenticeships as part of their workforce strategy.
We extend our thanks to NI Chamber of Commerce and Sensata Technologies for hosting a valuable and forward-looking discussion, and to all organisations continuing to invest in the next generation of skilled professionals.
